I will start my review with common concerts I had sight height of these sights that come with it vs 10/22 factory sights first off the sights on the gm are hk style fixed front adjustable rear all steel construction on the sights no plastic anywere the rear sight is a ghost/peep it does get a glare but they are good i did alot of research to find a new rear sight and the nodak spud 26/25 fits and works thats the best option IF you want to change it next is the finish which is on point parkerized military not the blued finish as pictured which made me cream i was so happy i bought a new 10/22 after i bought this barrel i loved it so much the barrel is built to tight tolerances when i remover the factory ruger barrel i had to beat it in with a hammer once i it lined up cartridges fed smoothly. I noticed on the barrel it says unfired rounds may not always eject they lied when they say may because they never eject the chamber is too tight around the bullet head for the ejector to pull the round out i had to use a cleaning rod to her it out but once fired the shell extracts with ease now ima talk about the ACCURACY of this barrel i suck at shooting but this barrel made me a usmc sniper and its only 16" i shoot in the basement because st.louis city doesnt offer much in shooting ranges i simulated 200m targets and was knocking the centers out of the targets over all this is a good barrel and i would recommend this to any one who needs an accurate platform.

I finally broke down and purchased GM's "classic finned barrel" and I received it last night. This thing is a work of art. They say it's "blued" in the description on the website but the finish looks parkerized in person, just like the pictures on the website. I was very pleased because a flat slate-gray military finish was what I wanted.
The "Cutts" compensator is a integrally machined part of the barrel so length is kept to the bare legal minimum. The fins are rounded in profile, and the barrel shape is very reminiscent of a Thompson SMG. Previously I cheaped-out and bought the one from TI which appears to be just a turned-down stock barrel; sharp edges, same 10/22 barrel profile. It didn't look right on my Reising-like build.
The barrel I received from GM is a bit tight in my old 10/22 receiver, but some emery paper and oil should take care of that. Thanks GM!

I purchased this barrel to complete a Ruger 10/22 Thompson (Tommy Gun) Chicago style 10/22 fun gun lookalike. This barrel definitely completes the look! I was afraid of loosing the great accuracy of my Ruger 10/22 by replacing the barrel however after installing the barrel and taking it to the range my fears proved to be unfounded as my 10/22 is accurate as ever! The only thing I will say is the rear sight that comes with the barrel is only a very tiny hole which can be difficult to use unless on a well light/bright white target.
