  1. initial discontent but quite satisfied at this point in the project. 4 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd May 2017

I was a little taken aback at a some eccentricity of the bore relative to the OD of the blank. The good folks at Green Mountain pointed out to me what their standard tolerances are for the "Gunsmith-Edition raw unturned blank", info that I hadn't noted before ordering. OK, I got what I ordered so I got on with things.
The blank machined more freely than I'm accustomed to with 4140. It finished out nicely. I haven't completed the rifle yet so as to be able to test fire. - quite happy with the thing at this point
If it shoots as well as it machined I'll be very happy and that 4 stars will go to a solid 5 !
--am waiting in frustration for the rebuild of an ailing Z axis servo for the machine needed to complete the breach blockfor the project.

  2. 9mm barrel 5 Star Review

Have ordered before, and have always been fully satisfied with the service and the product. I haven't finished my project yet, but other things got in the way!

  3. 9mm barrel blank 4 Star Review

I have used two of these 9mm blanks and find them to be of good quality.

  4. Great barrel for the price! 5 Star Review

Shipping was very fast. I'm in Hawaii, it got here in three days. Nice bright smooth crisp rifling and well centered. I'll buy again for the next project!

  5. barrel bore is not even close to the center of the barrel 2 Star Review

Posted by on 4th May 2015

The bore of the barrel is way off to the naked eye. Sure barrel bore is what you turn down and thread too but this one is way off. This causes the mass of the barrel to be out of balance on the lathe and it has to cut one portion of the barrel while not touching the other side. It will eventually work but I am disappointed in the QC of Green Moutain. I also ask a question with my order if they offered any options and those questions were un-answered.
I was sure hoping for better quality after reading other peoples reviews.
