  1. perfect barrel for straight pull bolt build 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Mar 2015

I ordered two barrels for a pair of straight pull, side charging, bolt action AR type rifles. The lack of a drilled gas port was exactly what I was looking for my new project. In the people's republic of New York, the safe act has all but ruined the modern sporting rifle. When they arrived I noticed one was Stainless steel and the other was not. This was a pleasant surprise because I had planned on having to blue both barrels. I had 11 degree crowns cut into both barrels and left them full length. The barrels have a heavy profile and measure .900 diameter from the step down behind the barrel extension to the muzzle. I fired 82 rounds from the stainless steel barrel build today, at 100 yards my 10 shot groups could be covered by a dime. I am looking forward to finishing the blued barrel build. These barrels are perfect for building a tack driving rifle.

  3. Great product for making your own barrel the way YOU want it. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 27th Jan 2015

I've made barrels and chambered them and it is fussy work to get it right. For someone who wants to try turning a barrel but doesn't want to get as involved as you do with chambering, these are the answer. You have a blank with the chambering done for you and at a very good price. All you have to do is turn the barrel to your liking, drill the gas port and crown the barrel. Then you can go to assembling the barrel to your gun and add the extras you like.
    A sure winner.
