  1. GM-M20 to replace old 18" barrel 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Jun 2017

Just wanted to let you know that my 20" Wylde barrel that was ordered and shipped to my gunsmith, American Pride, was a great buy. It replaced an 18" Wylde barrel that wasn't doing the job and after talking to my gunsmith about a replacement he brought up your company on the computer and I made the purchase with the barrel going to him. I just got back my AR-15 on Wednesday and then yesterday I went out to break in the barrel according to the instructions that I received from you last week. I did 100 rounds and zeroed in my scope for 100 yards and was very satisfied with the results and I was shooting faster than usual and then stopping to do the cleaning per your instructions and even then I was very happy. I can't wait to get back out to the shooting range and this time not have to worry about break in and just do some shooting. To let you know you have a happy customer down south.

  2. It's very rare I give a 5 star review. 5 Star Review

And the only reason I wont here is that I have only run about 100 rounds through it.

I shopped for quite a while before deciding on this barrel and am certainly not dissatisfied with my purchase. I knew it would be a shooter when first time out, just to get a few rounds down it, it held MOA at 100 yards with one particular group of 5. I load my own ammo and returned to the range with multiple 5 shot test groups built on 68 Hornady BTHP, 69 SMK and Nosler 77 BTHP. With the right powder this barrel held sub-MOA with all three bullet choices. The furthest spread in the keeper groups was .917" and this was off a bag not a sled. Also, these tests were .5 grain increments at book OAL so I expect the best is still to come.
I'll also throw in that I built a lefty and the barrel extension works flawlessly with my RRA BCG.
Great Barrel, Great Service. I would definitely recommend it.

  3. arrival of new barrel 4 Star Review

i gave this product a 4 and the reason i did i have not installed it on a rifle yet it came wrapped up and boxed in a very nice package i removed the barrel out of box for inspection it was a perfect finish on the barrel cleaned the barrel out and coated with lite lube for a future rifle build , if it shoots half as good as it looked inside and out it will be a good barrel very pleased with the looks of it, but what can i say these people have been building rifle barrels for a long time they are very well known for building superb rifle barrels.

The barrel arrived quickly and was packaged well I am not the greatest shot but on a good day I can put 5 shots inside 1 1/2 at 100 yards. This is outstanding for me !! And I have only shot 55 grain ammo. Can't wait to try a 69 or 77 grain. Great product guys !!

  5. First Barrel was Defective; Second Barrel was Great! 4 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Jan 2017

Purchased the GM-20 for a carry varmint rifle, but I couldn't even hold 2-inches at 100 yards despite using 6 different bullet weights and 17 different loads. I called GM and talked with Morgan Shaw and he asked me to return the barrel for inspection. Turns out there was a burr on the gas port that blew out the accuracy, so GM promptly sent me a new barrel that arrived within a couple of days. I put the upper back together and went to the range to get it sighted in using a couple of standard loads I have for a different varmint upper. The new GM-20 barreled upper promptly shot 0.470" and 0.411" using a 60 gr and 55 gr bullet respectively. I sure didn't like having a defective barrel at first, but GM was totally professional in correcting the problem. I can recommend the GM-20 barrel as a very accurate medium-weight barrel and I can recommend GM based on their service before, during and after the sale. It turns out that this barrel is a great fit for my needs; it will be for you too.
