  1. Great SBR 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Oct 2017

Wonderful barrel for my ultra-short SBR. I realize I'm losing ballistic stability with such a short barrel, but the 62gr bullets should help in that regard. Took the rifle to the range this weekend, worked very well. Also very much appreciated the customer service and follow-up from Green Mountain.

  2. Over gassed 3 Star Review

Posted by on 28th Oct 2016

Nice barrel but was over gassed for my application. I suggest a adjustable gas block for this barrel.Nice people at Green Mountain, swapped mine for the 10.5 barrel and have had no problems since. Thanks guys.

  3. Range Report 5 Star Review

Posted by on 21st Apr 2016

This was the first barrel I bought, for my first build. Install was simple. Interfaced perfectly with an Aero Precision upper and a YHM free float.

Something to think about with this barrel if you are thinking about doing a pistol or SBR build. This barrel is extremely short. The twist is correct for longer bullets but it does not have the length to support it. It will barely stabilize M855 enough to not key hole. You basically need to stick to 55gr and lighter.

I ran some M855 through it with horrible results. I then ran a load of 55gr Berger HP at 25m. It did significantly better. I'd say about .5" groups. What it really seemed to like (and what I now specifically load for it) is 50gr bullets. The Vmax I put through it had two holes touching and one slightly low right, which I believe was my error.

Optic used was a Vortex Strikefire.

None of the above should be taken as bad points to the barrel. Its just the nature of the beast when dealing with things this short. I would definitely buy it again.

  4. Solid built and fits like a glove. 5 Star Review

This barrel is first rate quality. I would recommend it. Tolerances look perfect and fits upper like a glove. I can't wait to test it on the range.

  5. Building my first AR Pistol 4 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Mar 2015

This is the first barrel I have ever bought for a build & also from this website, but so far I will be definitely ordering from you guys again. The order process was fantastic, my order shipped almost immediately followed with a tracking number, shipped extremely fast! I would have had it sooner but i missed the delivery guy not thinking it would arrive so fast lol. The barrel is packaged extremely well with bubble wrap and a plastic casing around just the barrel to keep any residue, not from barrel, from spreading. The gas tube was packaged with the barrel but outside the plastic case and shipped to me damage free! I will be installing this barrel today or tomorrow depending on if my other parts arrive. The barrel looks great, the gas port on top is burr free. I still have yet to test the function of the barrel but from the reviews I have read so far I feel this isn't going to be an issue. I rate 4 stars only because I can't give a 5 star until I have rated it's functionality. Thank you guys for your service! I will definitely be recommending your company to my buddies.
