Great quality compared to others at 1.5-2 times the price. Head spaced correctly. I've installed other GMR barrels & bench better than most can hold; 1/2" groups @100yds are norm with standard ammo & FF tube. Just remember these barrels are not "match" barrels; I like the quality & so do my customers (more bang for their buck). I concur with the other reviewer's specs. Thanks GMRB.

The quality of the barrel seems legit. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but wanted to rate it before I forgot about it. The service was excellent as well. I ended up ordering the wrong barrel but they allowed me to exchange it only to pay the extra shipping costs. I will be buying from this company again for future builds.

I have been looking for a mid weight, chrome lined 14.5 that did not have the grenade launcher cutout. This barrel is it!
Very high quality barrel, best packaging of ANY rifle part I have ever unboxed, and the shipping was super fast.
I, too, noticed the upgraded extension and it just adds to the value of the barrel. Nice fit to receiver and gas block, specs are dead on. And it shoots way better than I can with these tired eyes.

If you look carefully at the diagram (above) you will see a hole drilled in the receiver extension. Inside the receiver extension on the other side is a stud, projecting into the locking lug recess, which serves to support the extractor in the event of a case head rupture.
This is an engineering feature of SIG and H&K rifles, built to meet NATO "Over The Beach" (or: "OTB") specs.
Given the superb specs of these barrels) it's my guess that they were originally contracted for SIG Factory SBR rifles.
I purchased this barrel on sale in December, and at that price it was easily FIVE stars, based on quality and value. I recommended the barrel to a local gunsmith, and reading the specs, he immediately purchased five for his shop.
I deducted a star because at the $167 price point a purchaser should not feel surprised (and maybe bewildered) to discover the extractor support stud.
All the best.

Been shooting M4's for 15 years in the military...this is the Highest quality M4 barrel I've seen/shot. My shot groups have tightened to 1/4" at 200 yards from 1.5" with this barrel---only thing I changed on the rifle was the barrel!!!
