Have not used this particular barrel yet. I can almost guarantee it will be a tack driver. Every barrel I’ve purchased from GMRB has been a shooter. I’m talking as good as the rifles guys are charging $10,000 for. Couldn’t be more pleased. Well maybe a little frequent flyer miles discount.

I had never purchased a Green Mountain barrel before and the price, being so much lower than other manufacturers, scared me away for a long time. However a friend wanted me to build him a 20 Tactical and was hoping to get it before prairie dog prime time was over. Green Mountain was he only place that had a .204 barrel in stock. I ordered one and on a whim ordered this 6.5mm barrel too. I decided to turn this barrel into a Specialty Pistol barrel and put it on an XP-100. I had intended to shoot this pistol in WY-Shot a long range pistol match held in Gillette WY. I cut the barrel back to 17" and chambered it in 6.5 creedmoor. I threaded and crowned the muzzle then used he cut off portion of the barrel to make a muzzle brake. I never even had a chance to shoot the pistol till I got to the match. I just loaded up He same load that my 6.5 creedmoor rifle likes and went with it. Right before the match I zeroed the pistol and fired 15 rounds past the Chronograph. All these rounds were inside . 75" I was shocked. I took the velocity data I got and plugged it into the ballistic calculator and proceeded to hit targets from 100-1000yards in winds gusting up to 30mph. I ended up placing in the top 10 shooters shooting against Bartlein, Bruce, Krieger and other top barrel makers. I could not be more happy with this barrel!
