Barrels are top quality for my application. Very happy with your barrels. I draw filed the exterior to my customers spec. finished beautifully and very accurate

  3. Excellent barrel for upgrading or customizing a 22 rifle. 5 Star Review

I recently purchase 5 more of these great little barrels. I have used them in the past to re-barrel Remington #4 rolling blocks that I have converted from take-down to solid frame model. The barrels are the perfect size for this conversion and have proven to be extremely accurate. Clients use them for small game hunting and BPCR 22 matches. They certainly save a lot of time over machining an octagon barrel this small from a round blank.

  4. tops in quality 5 Star Review

One of the reviews had a slight complaint about the exterior roughness of the barrel, I suspect he has never draw-filed a barrel. Unless you want to pay an extra hundred for an octagon blank, get out your files and abrasives. Beautiful bore.

  5. Product finish as received was much rougher than expected. 4 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Dec 2015

I read a review that stated "delicate tapering along the barrel shaft". I understood going in that this is a "gunsmith edition" barrel, but I was not prepared for the extremely rough surface on the barrel flats.

Since I desire a finely polished finish before I send the barrel to be blued, I will be spending quite a bit of time removing the milling tooling marks from the flats.

I have no doubt that the barrel will shoot well, given Green Mountain's reputation, but more realistic pictures on the website might have given me pause when ordering this particular product.
