1. decent barrel for a dedicated AR upper project

   The blank was a little off center on one end, about .050”. At the price, well worth some turning between centers to true with the bore !

   Easy turning, no warping, finished barrels shoot very well. Better than I can shoot! I'm manufacturing TC Contender 16 inch carbine barrels with a threaded muzzle and 11 degree crown. Barrel lug welds clean and sweet to this alloy, blues up nicely with Brownell's OXPHO cold blue. Even get a bit of that handsome deep purple/blue color, probably due to the high quality of the alloy and consistent annealed state they come in. Using PO Ackley's barrel turning tool design on centers, save a lot of effort not having to use a follow rest. .035 passes on 16 + inches, without chatter or heavy tool marks. Again the quality of the alloy and heat treatment. Chromemoly's are the toughest alloys to get a fine finish on. GMRB's alloy is an exception. Turns like fully annealed W2 water hardening tool steel.
   Couldn't ask for a better barrel blanks to turn.

   These barrel blanks are the foundation of highly accurate finished barrels every time I have turned one. The stress relieve is very well done. They turn between centers without warping, and can take .030 passes without a follow rest using PO Ackley's design for high speed steel turning tools.
   
   By holding concentricity to .0002 - .0001 tolerance, easy to do because these blanks are already at that tolerance, I'm machining Contender Carbine barrels with insane accuracy. A slightly tight Bentz chamber at .001 - .002 headspace, and an 11 degree crown, shoots everything I've run thru them better than I can aim.
   All the different barrel blanks from GMRB I've used are so good there are no problems. What could be better than that? The prices are a cherry on top of everything.
   
   Made an experimental 14.5 inch AR15 .300blkout barrel from their 1-7 chrome lined chambered blanks. I'll never sell this barrel its so crazy accurate. Shoots so well I just ordered a .556 AR15 Chambered blank to replace the barrel on my go-to carbine.
   All their products I've used are superb.
   Can't say enough positives.

5. Accuracy at avery low cost

   What can you say, the barrel was perfect for my project reasonable cost and very very accurate . Anyone that shoots a lot of .22 lr will know certain barrels work best with one or two rounds and if your a guy that likes European guns then you start with expensive ammo to get the best results.i can tell you it shoots very well with the top ammo available but with care in the crowning process and the correct chamber it thes barrels will keep pace with anything out their using low cost ammo. The old saying you get whatever you pay for doesn’t apply.
