  1. Outstanding Product 5 Star Review

This is an outstanding product. It made of the finest steel and is clearly machined to very precise specifications. There are no blemishes or rough spots on this barrel, only smooth and polished metal. It fit perfectly into my receiver with just a little effort to insert it. A nice snug fit was expected. The fluting adds an extra element of beauty to the barrel, as well as its practical function of dissipating excess heat build up. I am very pleased with my purchase and will be back again for any future barrel purchases.

  2. WOW!!!!! 5 Star Review

This barrel is amazing! I had to do some minor sanding to my stock for a good fit. The barrel inserted into the receiver tightly with no problems. My 10/22 is a 255 series serial number. After installation I thoroughly cleaned the barrel. I used the following ammo to dial the scope in and experiment with. I was shooting from a bench at 50 yards. First I shot 20 rounds of Remington Golden Bullets for initial scope adjustment. I then shot 75 rounds of CCI Mini Mag. I Ended the shoot with 50 rounds of Eley Club ammo. The CCI ammo was holding groups under a 1/2 inch. (5 shot groups) The Eley Club groups were awesome! All the holes were touching! (5 shot groups)
This is an excellent hunting barrel! My stock barrel was a 22" Stainless Steel sporter barrel that shot great. But the Green Mountain Barrel is a significant improvement! It is weighted good and I noticed no difference between it and the stock barrel concerning balance or being front heavy. Even with the extra 2" of barrel. The performance for the money is a bargain! I can't say enough good things about this barrel! I also can't wait to take it squirrel hunting! If you have a carbine length barrel do yourself a favor.... Buy this barrel!!!! You will not be disappointed!

  3. Green Mountain 24' stainless fluted sporter barrel for the 10-22 5 Star Review

A few months back I took apart my old Ruger 10-22 sp upgrading it with a beautiful blue Barracuda stock,a 20" Kidd fluted bull barrel And a complete Timney trigger group. It shoots like a dream and is very accurate, the down side is that the build was quite expensive. I was left with a barrel, trigger group, and a gorgeous piece of American black walnut from the original Ruger 10/22 SP. Now stay with me, It gets good, I had a hard time letting that Ruger SP stock go so i started a search for a custom barrel with a standard profile and at least a 20 or 24 " length. I found a plethora of stubby little 16" carbine length barrels but Green Mountain was the only barrel co. offering what I wanted. So I ordered a new receiver and bolt group, installed my factory trigger group with a Volquartsen hammer kit and shim kit for about 55 dollars, and finally my new stainless 24" fluted sporter profile barrel. Wow, what a gorgeous rifle. I took her to the range and mounted a Nikko Stirling 4-15 target master scope on her with a 60 yard zero, I started getting excellent groups after 150 rounds and two cleanings in between. Now I am a very good shot, but not the best, and I was able to produce multiple five shot groups under 1/2 inch. and around 7 at 3/8 of an inch. My ammo was standard Remington Thunderbolt, the only stuff Iv'e been able to find at present. I cant say enough how happy I am with this barrel, What a Shooter! I placed over 40 golf balls past 60 yards all with perfect hits and no misses I tell ya what, this is the best 105.00 dollars I've ever spent. And Green Mountain barrel company, I love you guys Sincerely David Downing

  4. very accurate and balanced hunting barrel 5 Star Review

big improve in all respects. barrel was a tight fit to receiver; put barrel in freezer and receiver and bolt assembly-not trigger assembly-in oven at 175 degrees-slide right together with time for adjustments! I had to sand carbine wood stock some to seat barrel. rifle has timney trigger assem. After 3rd cleaning and on a beanbag at the range with cheap thunderbolt ammo it shot easy 1/2 in groups of 5; many tighter!! this is a great hunting barrel.
