What an upgrade! Only drawback was I didn't get this 5.56 chambered blank sooner. Dialed this barrel in at .0002" on the lathe, gave it an 11 degree crown as cut, no polishing, left the diameter of .900" behind the gas block, with .250 deep cooling fins. I never shot such an accurate rifle, its scary, and this is my go to combat carbine. The confidence factor of hitting what I'm aiming at this barrel gives me is off the charts.
I don't know what these guys at GMRB are doing, whatever it is, its the best kept secret in barrels out there.
Get one, whatever it takes to dial in runout close to zero as you can, you will be very happy.
Now I can't wait to build an AR10 with the 7.62 chambered blank.

These chambered AR15 blanks rock. Sweet turning, insane accuracy.
Machined one of the 300BLK chambered blank. Built a carbine with an A2 full stock, handles like a dream. It is so accurate with iron sights I bagged 2 deer at 200 yards, first and second round I shot after sighting in. After that I am so pleased I'm converting all my AR platforms to use a barrel turned from a GMRB chambered blank.

These barrels are great for custom work and the price is right for keeping costs down for my customers. Because they are already chambered, l can concentrate the cosmetics and special features of my customer's choosing.

Turns like butter, provided you don't try to take a <.005" cut. Finished very nicely with a 120 grit roll and scotchbrite. Chamber and bore are right on. Minimal work to produce a very accurate-for-the-money barrel.

These half done barrels are hard to beat. Chrome lining is great. Chambers are really good. The only thing I would change is not having the step in them.
