  1. Great fit and finish 4 Star Review

Posted by on 13th Aug 2020

Ordered 2 government profile a2 1/8 barrels to replace my aging cross the course rifles barrels. I wanted something that would stand up to the high round counts and stableize the long 88s. Green Mountian was suggested from some other shooters who prefer them as more durable alternative to the normal 416 ss 5r barrels generally used in highpower.
I have 500 rounds so far and both seem good to go. If they prove to durable, found a new favorite.

Accuracy seems to be equivalent to other high end barrels and as these are chrome lined I hope to get more than 5k rounds before they fail the field Guage.

    Time will tell

  2. Best Barrel for the Money 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Jun 2020

Green Mountain Barrel are low in price but the highest in quality. Don’t let the low prices fool you. They are very fine barrels and will deliver an outstanding group. If you are not shooting tight groups, it is not the barrel. Something else is going on wrong.

  3. This is an outstanding barrel 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd May 2020

I used this barrel in a retro A1 build. I benchrest shoot so I'm used to swapping various barrels for Savage, Remington, and older C&R and mil rifles. The quality of this barrel is outstanding. I've shot about 50 5.56 handloads with SIE projectiles so far and there was no trace of copper in the barrel when I scrubbed it today with Hoppes Elite. Now, this is impressive. Installing and pinning the virgin 0.750 front sight base was a bit stressful because the barrel is hard as hell (yes!) and you need to swap out the pilot and #30 bits after each hole just to be safe (using liberal amounts of cutting oil). With a retro 4x carry handle sight it has routinely shot about 1moa so far with a single pretty stout load of N120. I suspect it is doing a lot better than my sighting with the retro scope. In summary get this barrel...you won't be sorry.

  4. Well Made Barrel 5 Star Review

After zeroing my rifle, I was consistently and easily hitting a 2" steel target at 100 yards with iron sights using non-match ammunition. This barrel is just as accurate as any of my other 5.56 Nato chambered barrels from FN, Faxon, and Ballistic Advantage. I'm very please with this Green Mountain barrel.

  5. pencil barrel 4 Star Review

haven't shot this yet but i'm concerned how thin it is before the gas block. it's nice that it is light but i'm wondering if it's going to string shots once it gets hot.
