  1. Fantastic Barrel for The Price! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd May 2021

I've had this barrel for around 4+ years on a AR pistol build. No function troubles from day one. Accurate beyond belief when shot from a rest.
Word if advice:assembled with a quality bolt carrier group and recoil spring and buffer. Don't get too fancy to avoid tolerance stacking but going cheap and "economy" is a no go for either a pistol or SBR build.
I also like the fact that it has a stop for the extractor to keep it from slipping off the case head prematurely.

  2. Great Barrel 5 Star Review

I got this barrel to build a short barrel AR when I had my FFL and SOT stamp. I had read all the reviews and at a lot of writeups and decided to take a chance. I built up the upper and put on the lower on and it had a really old and cheap scope and tried some 70 grain Barnes Vor-TX copper ammo with a M-2000 suppressor and when I had it sighted in, was getting a less one groups at 100 yards. Then I shot three hogs. One was at about 70 yards and the second was at 100 yards. The first one made it about 50 yards before it expired and the second one dropped in its tracks. The third one was about 125 yards away from the stand in some brush and I either missed it or did not make a good shot as it got it away and did not find a blood trail. For hunting and target practice this barrel makes the cut and am happy with the results.

  3. Another great GM Barrel 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th Jun 2018

:Like previous GM Barrels I've purchased the 10.5" 5.56 barrel is great. Fit and finish is top shelf. For a 10.5" barrel for a AR Pistol on it's first time out to the range I was getting 2.5" groups @100yds off hand, off a rest (bag) groups were under 1.5" using Hornady .223 Superperformance 55gr VMax varmint loads.
I was a little concerned about the over gassed review, shells are ejecting @ 3 o'clock.

  4. Great Barrel at a Great Price! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 21st May 2018

I ordered the 10.5" barrel for an AR Pistol i was putting together, and it easily met, even exceeded my expectations. The gas port does seem to be a little over-sized, but that's nothing an adjustable gas block and/or heavier buffer/buffer spring can't fix (which I was planning to do anyway). The finish looks top notch both inside and out. The accuracy seems very good, but I've only shot out to 50 yards so far (and only ~200 rounds). Finally, the shipping time was outstanding: ordered the barrel on a Monday (4/30), and it was delivered via UPS on Wednesday (5/2). This was my first Green Mountain purchase, but it certainly will not be my last!
