  1. Nice barrel 5 Star Review

I have barreled a few rifles with these barrels and have had great success less that 1 MOA is easily attainable. This barrel will be used to barrel a 357 maximum rifle.

  2. .357 Barrel 5 Star Review

Very quick service and arrived in excellent condition. Features are exactly as advertised.
Custom work will make this into an octagonal barrel to match to a Remington rolling block receiver. Rifle will be a carbine style in 357 to be an off hand shooter.

    Hopefully this will work!

I am a Hoosier deer hunter with a fondness for lever action rifles. So I wanted to have a Marlin 336 built into something with a flatter trajectory and still be within the parameters of the Indiana law .357 minimum 1.8 Max.
In talking to gunsmith (Steve Zihn of Shoshoni, WY)
He suggested the 70's popular silhouette round the .357 Herrett which is based on a shortened blown out 30-30 case; a perfect marriage. Being this was my first custom I didn't know there was so many decisions to make but a long story short in setting up the rifle Steve (a ex-marine sharp shooter) fired a (3) shot group at 75 yards with iron and a FN 187grn LBT Cast Performance bullet that could be covered with a nickle. Charcoal briquets @ 100 off hand no problem.
This lever gun shoots with bolt action accuracy.
An american made Barrel, stress relieved, button rifled, turned on centers and and air gauged to (2/10th's) for $99.00 bucks!!!! what do you have to lose.
I'm going to the range and sand bag it out to 200 yards and post an update.
    Thanks Green Mountain
